Middlesex Bindery

Our way forward

As you know, the Governor of Massachusetts has issued “stay at home” instructions. A bindery is not considered “essential” so we are closed. The last day we were open was March 16.

I was able to bring a few things that don’t require equipment, so I’m able to do a few things, but the vast majority of the work in the shop is at a dead stop.

When we re-open, I will send an e-mail to everyone with outstanding work. To the extent that I can, I will re-arrange work to try to make any deadlines that have not already passed. There are a few jobs that were due at the end of March and few that were due for Easter. Obviously, that won’t happen. I will follow up with each of you to figure out a way forward.

There may be some of you that decide not to have the work done for one reason or another, and that’s okay. For those of you who do want to continue, please remember that everything will be delayed by at least the length of the closure.

Even though income has dropped to zero and expenses remain the same, the bindery will survive. All I ask is for your patience.

Stay healthy,
